Jeon Ji Hyun, the Korean actress and CM you’ve heard of if you’ve heard of any, may be lesbian.
Does one say “She is lesbian”, or “She is a lesbian”? You know like that British thing about “hospital”.
And while we’re here, why would one say “No doubt about it, Samuel L. Jackson is black.”, but “Howard Stern is a jew.” Frankly, I’ve never liked “jewish” unless used to describe a cultural artifact. i.e. “Jewish Hospital”, “jewish tradition”, &c. It just seems like you’re hedging your bets or something. I mean, “jewish” seems to describe Garry Marshall, the television producer, and his sister Penny for that matter, who are in fact of Italian extraction.
