Can’t sleep wierd car story.

Sunday, 18 February, 2007

So if you’ve seen any business or wacky-story oriented news since Thursday you know that General Motors is in talks to buy the Chrysler Group from Daimler-Chrysler AG. It makes perfect sense doesn’t it. The world’s worst engineers pairing up with the world’s most consistently awkward designers to duplicate products at every price point. Another story is floating that Dodge wants to badge-engineer Chevrolet’s Suburban as the new Ramcharger. I don’t know which story is more insane.

Here’s the story breaking out of Europe: A contingency from Hyundai-Kia Automotive are on the ground in Stuttgart, and they don’t want to talk about getting more Dodge-badged Atoses into Mexico. Hyundai wants an established luxury brand and they just might get Hudson, Imperial, Ambassador …

Right, so Hyundai’s not interested in Chrysler. They’ve got too much going on especially in Europe and South Asia.

A group of investors, including at least two high-profile names, should form to finagle the five billion and restore the Pentastar. License small vehicles either from Hyundai or Fiat and focus on strong segments while bringing the technology up to date, (small diesels, mainstreaming GEM, tri-fuel engines, etc.)
